It served as the capital of the Chamba rulers in the in the 6th century AD. In the medieval period, it came under the Mughal dominion and various Sikh kingdoms, which followed the former. Finally, it was brought under the control of the British. Today it is in the state of Himachal Pradesh.A small grassy meadow (1 x 1 sq km) nestling in the lap of the tall deodar trees, this beautiful place has a small pond at its center. The two floating islands in the center of the pond are marvelous.
