Hospet, a small township in Northern Karnataka, is located at a distance of 325 km from the capital city of Bangalore. History of Hospet, once the throne of the powerful Vijayanagar Kingdom, receives attention from Hampi, the erstwhile capital city of the Vijayanagar Kings. The city is spread over an area of 28.39 sq km, which was constructed by one of the rulers of Vijayanagar, Krishna Deva Raya. He built the city in memory of his mother, Nagalambika. It is one of the ancient reservoir and a power station in India. One can find variety of fishes, aquatic animals, spot billed pelicans, storks, flamingos and others.

Vittala Temple : The beautiful 16th century temple, dedicated to Lord Vittala. The 56 musical pillars are the highlighting feature in this temple. Each pillar creates a musical notes when it is tapped. Beautiful sculptures of various deities, lively paintings and decorated walls of shrine are the other attractions.

Hazara Rama Temple : It is one of the prominent religious destination in Hospet. The 15th century temple, devoted to Lord Rama. The sacred shrine depicts scenes from Ramayana in the form of beautiful sculptures and paintings.

Vrupaksha Temple : It is most significant site in Hospet, located in Hampi. It is also a part of UNESCO world heritage. The historical marvel dedicated to Lord Shiva is belongs to 8th century.
